We received a statement issued by the leadership of the PLO factions in Lebanon, which said:
“The leadership of the Palestine Liberation Organization factions in Lebanon held a meeting on Friday at the Embassy of the State of Palestine devoted to following up on the situation of the Palestinian camps, the needs of our people and ways to alleviate their suffering and the financial crisis and difficulties that UNRWA suffers from carrying out its duties, and issued the following statement:
1- The leadership of the PLO factions in Lebanon is surprised by the statements issued by the Lebanese-Palestinian Dialogue Committee in response to the conference held in Cairo for the countries supervising the affairs of Palestinian refugees in the host Arab countries, in which it held the Palestinians responsible for offending UNRWA, limiting the causes of the financial crisis that the Agency suffers from to the increasing needs of Palestinian refugees and accusing UNRWA of corruption, which gives justification to donor countries for not carrying out their funding duties, which comes within the context of the pressures they are exposed to. Unrwa.
2- The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) is the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, wherever it is, and no one can bypass it, and the leadership of the PLO factions refuses to launch positions that carry in their content a blatant interference in the internal Palestinian affairs by abuse, procrastination and accusations by an institution whose work is supposed to be the basis of its work to collect and solve refugee issues and not to sow division within Palestinian society.
3- Accordingly, the factions of the organization announce a reassessment of the relationship with the Lebanese-Palestinian Dialogue Committee to correct the work in a way that serves the main objective for which the committee was established, which is dialogue, solving the problems of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and alleviating their suffering.
